Akshay Kumar calls himself ‘anpadh’, wife Twinkle Khanna as brains of the family: ‘She is 50 now, goes to university to do PhD’

He continued, “I am lucky to marry superstar Rajesh Khanna’s daughter but I am lucky that she is a lovely wife and a lovely mother. If you get the right partner in life, then your life is perfect. I go to work and she has taken such good care of my children. I am surprised about how my wife looks at life even today. She is 50 now and still goes to study. She has finished her masters and is now doing her PhD.”

The actor painted a vivid picture of their life in London, describing his routine and , humorously downplaying his own educational background. He said, “There will be few people like me. When I go to London, I drop my daughter to school, drop my son at the university and finally drop my wife at the university. And then, like an ‘anpadh’, return home and watch cricket all day.” Twinkle recently completed her masters degree from the University of London.

Akshay said that despite wanting to go back to college and study, but starts crying looking at books. Shikhar joked that while Twinkle has read all the books in the library, Akshay can’t bring himself to read any. Akshay said that it has a lot to do with the way one is. As a kid, Akshay said that he was only interested in sports. He said, “My parents understood I was zero in studies and they pushed me towards sports.”

At an earlier event, Twinkle had said while Akshay is not book smart, he is street smart. “He (Akshay) doesn’t read. I always say you need to read to be smart or successful but he doesn’t read. Despite that, he is really smart. He is smart in a different way than I am. I am probably better read, but he is street smart. He is better with numbers than I am. His understanding of people, the way business works, is greater than me. He is extremely confident,” the actress had said at Times LitFest.

On the work front, Akshay was recently seen in the film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan opposite Tiger Shroff.
