Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari teaser: Varun Dhawan tries to be a Baahubali, Janhvi Kapoor maintains she has been to a nightclub

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Abhinav Sharma.

Dharma Productions just released the teaser for their upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, starring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf in lead roles. The film will mark the second major release for Janhvi in the span of just two months, with Param Sundari’s release on August 29. While the teaser didn’t reveal much of the storyline, the film looks to be a big spectacle romantic film.

Produced by Karan Johar and Adar Poonawalla. Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan, the teaser of the film opened with Varun dressed up as Prabhas from Baahubali. He asks Abhinav Sharma’s character, Buntu, about how he is looking, and he says, “Ranveer Singh ki dhoti mai Prabhas ka paudha lag raha hai” (You look like a sapling version of Prabhas who is wearing Ranveer Singh’s dhoti). Sunny and Buntu are presumably extras on a film or play, as they are surrounded by a lot of stage and set props.

The teaser then introduces the audience to the rest of the cast, including Janhvi, Sanya and Rohit. The latter gets down from a helicopter which has ‘Singh Enterprises’ written on it, suggesting that he is playing a character belonging to the other side of the financial spectrum than Sunny. Several shots of massive dance numbers follow, and throughout the teaser you can hear a revamped version of the Sonu Nigam song ‘Bijuria’. The track was part of his 1999 album Mausam, and he co-wrote the song with Ravi Pawar.

The film also marks the reunion of Shashank and Varun, after working together as director and actor in two films in the past, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). As a director, Shashank is also responsible for Dhadak (2018) and Govinda Naam Mera (2022). He is also responsible for writing for films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani (2023) and Dil Bechara (2020). The rest of the cast includes Abhinav, Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Badshah, as reported by IMDb.

The film will release on October 2.
