Shah Rukh Khan unveils poster of Nayanthara from Jawan: ‘She is the thunder that comes before storm’

Nayanthara is earlier seen in a similar outfit in Ajith's Billa, which was released in 2007.

Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to unveil the poster of Nayanthara from his upcoming film Jawan, directed by Atlee. Though the poster unveils nothing new that we haven’t seen from the prevue of film, it has become viral among Nayanthara fans. Nayan’s look from the movie is also reminiscent of her role as Sasha from Ajith’s Billa (2007).

Sasha’s look was heavily inspired by Angelina Jolie’s Lora Craft character from the American movie series. Now, in Jawan, Nayanthara is back in a similar role. Sharing the poster, SRK wrote, “She is the thunder that comes before the storm!”

Jawan is Nayanthara’s Bollywood debut, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. Though the name and details of her role are not revealed, going by the promos, the actress seems to be playing a special agent in the film. After the release of the prevue, Nayanthara’s husband Vignesh Shivan also hinted that there are ‘some romantic’ scenes in Jawan between SRK and Nayan.

Reacting to the poster, Vignesh Shivan wrote on Twitter, “Happy & Proud of you thangamey Nayanthara. From being a fan of Shahrukh sir and binge-watching only his movies! Like literally only his movies! To acting opposite to him in such a big film! Your journey is jus starting. You are so inspiring, dear wife. Our family is so proud of you.”

Other than Nayanthara, the film also has Priyamani, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra, Astha Agarwal, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya in important roles. The prevue was lauded by fans for having a lot of women’s power in it. Shah Rukh Khan’s wife and the film’s producer Gauri Khan also liked the promo for the very reason, according to the Bollywood superstar.

Jawan, which has music by Anirudh Ravichander, will be released in theatres on September 7.
