‘Shah Rukh Khan said he will stop the shoot’: Devdas actor Milind Gunaji recalls ‘gentleman’ SRK’s gesture after his father passed away

Milind Gunaji also recalled how there was a bit of awkwardness on the sets of "Dola Re Dola" because of a technical glitch.

Actor Milind Gunaji, who worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Devdas, has opened up about how SRK made sure he was fine after a devastating incident. In an interview with Rajshri Unplugged, Milind recounted that he lost his father during the film’s production, and that Shah Rukh was ready to stop the shoot to ensure that he was fine.

Upon arriving on set, the news of Milind’s loss became known, and the actors empathised with him. The actor said, “I remember Shah Rukh, he is such a gentleman and a nice person. He used to come and sit with me. He told me that he was feeling sorry about this and said that if something needs to stop, they will stop. He said that there won’t be any problem, and they can stop the shoot. Sanjay sir also told me the same thing.”

Milind further recalled that filming the iconic song Dola Re Dola took a lot of time. He said that despite being on the sets for almost three days, he was not called for the shoot because of some issue.

He said that there was a shot that was filmed with a handheld camera. Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit were moving gracefully, but a technical issue caused some awkwardness. Understanding that Bhansali would take the needed time, Milind patiently waited for his turn. He said, “On the set, a long shot was happening where Madhuri and Aishwarya were both moving forward and backward, with all the dancers dancing. Somewhere, some technical mistake was happening; there was a bit of awkwardness. I felt that Madhuri ji had hurt her leg. So, I thought that it wouldn’t happen so quickly because whatever Sanjay ji needed, he would take it and make it happen.”
