Salman Khan warned ‘main hungama macha doonga’ before I was to slap him in Tere Naam, Indira Krishnan: ‘My hands were shaking’
Indira Krishnan, who starred alongside Salman Khan in Tere Naam, recalled a prank by the actor that left her feeling nervous before they filmed a scene together.

Bollywood actor Indira Krishnan, known for her special appearances in various Hindi films and notable roles on TV, starred alongside Salman Khan in his 2003 film Tere Naam. In a recent interaction, Indira recalled a prank Salman played on her that left her nervous before filming a scene together.
Speaking on the YouTube channel JoinFilms, Indira shared how the scene required her to slap Salman, but his warning beforehand added unexpected pressure. She said, “Salman pulled a prank on me. He told me, ‘Thoda sa bhi laga na, Indira, toh dekhna mein kya karta hoon. Main hungama macha doonga (If you hit me even slightly, watch what I’ll do. I’ll cause an uproar).’ I was so scared to shoot that scene with him. My hands were shaking when I had to slap him. But he’s such a lovely person. I felt very comfortable working with him, and it didn’t feel like I was working with Salman Khan. He’s quite the prankster.”
Tere Naam was released in 2003, around a year after Salman faced accusations in a hit-and-run case that resulted in a man’s death. This period also saw the end of his high-profile relationship with then-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai. In an earlier interview with Lallantop, Ravi Kishan, who portrayed a priest in Tere Naam, recalled Salman’s often ‘moody’ demeanour on set. He suggested that Salman’s mood was also influenced by his intense character. “On the set of Tere Naam, I would give him space. That character (Radhe) was intense. That’s how Satish Kaushik ji (director) wanted it. Salman was probably lost in the character too. I would stay away from him on the set,” he shared.
Despite the problematic nature of Salman’s character Radhe in Tere Naam, which some viewers today compare to Kabir Singh, the actor received high praise for his intense performance. The film was widely appreciated and proved to be a box office success.
