The most asked question, when it comes to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, is, ‘When will you get married?’ The actor, who is 57, now often jokes about his marriage. Even his father Salim Khan is ready to answer anything but queries about his elder son’s marriage. But it would have been a different scenario had Juhi Chawla’s father agreed to Salman marrying his daughter.

An old video of Salman from one of his interviews during his early days in the film industry has resurfaced on social media. In it, the actor is seen sharing how he was in awe of Juhi but her father rejected his marriage proposal for her.

On being asked about his views on Juhi, Salman said, “She’s a very sweet, adorable girl. I toh asked her father if you let her get married to me. He refused.” Unsure about the reason why her father doesn’t approve of him, the Dabangg actor added, “Maybe I don’t fit the bill I guess… pata nahi kya chahiye unko (I don’t know what he wants).”

Juhi Chawla got married to Jay Mehta in December 1995. Together they have two children, Jahnavi Mehta (born in 2001) and Arjun Mehta (born in 2003). Speaking about her husband, Juhi has earlier said, “I know Jay is my very best friend. I can turn to him for everything and anything. He is really the person who helps me clear my head. When I am not able to see things far, I find him having that wider vision, that wider perspective that I need at that moment. I am very grateful that he is there in my life.”

Salman Khan and Juhi Chawla haven’t starred opposite each other in a movie besides Salman’s cameo appearance in Juhi’s 1997 film Deewana Mastana.
