So whenever he has to give reference of someone thin, ‘mariyal’, he be like he is like Aasif Sheikh. That’s how he says: Aasif ki tarah mariyal. I am the symbol of a skinny man. This is why he calls me sukhandi.”

He said, “I had a friend there, and he had bought a new car, he had come to show it to me when Salman told him, ‘give it to me, let me test drive’. The way he drove, my friend freaked out. He almost killed me, because of course he couldn’t say a word to Salman Khan.”
Aasif added, Salman did it on purpose. “Later, he asked my friend, ‘So, how was it?’ It was quite funny experience.”
He recalled another such incident when the traffic police failed to recognise the Maine Pyaar Kiya actor. “Another time, we were shooting for Bandhan. At that time, he had an Esteem. He made me sit, and again started driving rashly on footpath, here and there. I was like, ‘Salman, we will get caught’, he said, ‘So, what? I am Salman Khan, don’t you worry’.”
He added, “Soon, we were caught by the traffic police. So he pulled down the window and said, ‘Arey, bhai’. But, the police officer genuinely didn’t recognise him. Salman was shocked. I was like, ‘Maybe, remove your shirt, he might recognise you then’.”
Calling working with Salman Khan equal to a party, Aasif claimed, “I don’t know what most of the people think about him, but Salman is the most happy-go-lucky person. He is very chilled. He meets everybody, talks to everybody. He’s a different league altogether. You cannot compare Salman to anyone. He is extremely genuine man. He abuses people on their face, but if you do something nice, he hugs and appreciates you.”
Aasif even revealed that after he signed Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, Salman Khan personally called him to congratulate him. “He called and said, ‘I am very happy for you. It’s a good show and I am liking it. I watched a couple of episodes and it was quite entertaining.’ I never go to him asking for roles, he’s the one who always offers me roles in his films.”
