Popular 90s actress and television star Sheeba Akashdeep once had a great relationship with actor Saif Ali Khan and his ex-wife Amrita Singh. The two were not only close friends but also neighbours, living in the same bungalow complex. However, things took a turn after a tragic incident involving Saif’s dog and Sheeba’s pet. The dog accidentally killed Sheeba’s beloved pet, and heartbroken by the loss, she stopped speaking to Saif. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Sheeba recalled the unfortunate incident, saying, “Toh hua yeh ki hum dost the, hum neighbours bhi the, same bungalow complex mein rehte the and issi doraan hua yeh ki unke dog ne mere dog ko maar diya galti se (So, what happened was that we were friends; we were also neighbors, living in the same bungalow complex. And during this time, his dog accidentally killed my dog)." She shared that after the incident they stopped speaking to each other. She said, "Mera itna dil tut gaya and you are also very volatile at that time (My heart broke so much, and you are also very volatile at that time)." The grief of losing her pet was overwhelming, and despite Saif’s sympathy and attempts to apologize, Sheeba was unable to forgive him at that time. She said, "A couple of times after that, when he met, he told my husband, ‘kya wo kabhi forgive nahi karegi kya? (Couple of times after that, when he met my husband, he asked, ‘Will she never forgive me?’)." Sheeba shared that she wasn't able to cope with the emotional turmoil which led her to sold her house and moved away from the complex. “Uss time aesa dil tut gaya tha ki mein wo ghar bhi bech ke nikal gayi uss complex se immediately. Overnight I walked off. I said I can’t live here anymore. Wo mera favorite dog tha. So that’s kind of we lost touch. (But at that time, my heart was so shattered that I sold the house and left the complex immediately. Overnight, I walked off. I said I can’t live here anymore. He was my favorite dog. So that’s kind of how we lost touch)." Professionally, Sheeba and Saif had shared screen space in films like Sanam Teri Kasam and Surakshaa. On the professional front, Sheeba was last seen in Alia Bhatt's Jigra, while Saif has made a strong comeback after the brutal knife attack and is gearing up for his next film, The Jewel Thief, on Netflix.
