Actors often get cuts, burns, bruises, and sometimes life-threatening injuries while performing action sequences. Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan, among others, have at some point in their careers been severely injured. Recently, actor Richa Chadha also opened up about a grave knee injury that she suffered while doing a stunt on one of her films. She shared how the lack of 'safety' and 'sympathy' led her to decide to not put her body through such pain ever again. Appearing on Cyrus Broacha's podcast Cyrus Says, Richa revealed that she once had a major knee injury after she hurt herself on a film set. She narrated, "I don't have a cartilage. It was a stunt injury. I was doing some sh**ty film which I regretted immediately. When I broke my knee, I looked around, and not one person had sympathy in their eyes. They were like, 'Oh yaar, ab ek schedule latak jaayega, humaari payment nahi aayegi (now one schedule will be left hanging, and we won't get our payment)'." Describing how the stunt went wrong, the Fukrey 3 actor continued, "I jumped from something, and they had the wrong crash mat or something. There was a gadda (mattress) and I hurt myself. My knee just twisted and snapped. I got so irritated." Since then, Richa decided she won't take risks with her body ever again. She also emphasised how actors put their body through so much, yet not enough attention is paid to their safety. She said, "Actors are just meant to do a lot of s*** and no one thinks about safety." Richa can currently be seen as Bholi Punjaban in Fukrey 3. The film is doing decent business at the box office despite competition.
