Power couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are currently on cloud nine as 2023 has unquestionably been a remarkable year for them. While 2023 began with Ranbir delivering a superhit movie, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Alia took the lead with the blockbuster Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, followed by her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone and then bagged the National Film Award for Best Actress. Meanwhile, Ranbir is getting ready for the highly anticipated release of his ambitious project Animal.
Amidst all this, the couple is also getting ready to celebrate their daughter Raha Kapoor’s first birthday. Meanwhile, Ranbir recently opened up about his wife and daughter, noting that Alia has been writing emails to Raha every day and expressed his desire to start writing letters to Raha soon. “Alia is writing her emails every day and I thought I would also write something,” he said. During a chat with Hauser’s YouTube channel, Ranbir also recalled writing love letters when he was young.
He also added that emails and text messages were “superficial”. “Now you send emails and texts to people. But these are very superficial,” he remarked, expressing his concern if the art of love letters was dying.
Ranbir and Alia welcomed Raha on November 6, 2022. Alia Bhatt took to Instagram and shared the announcement which read, “And in the best news of our lives, our baby is here, and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love, blessed and obsessed parents, love love love Ranbir and Alia.”
Three weeks later, the couple announced the name of their baby girl, Raha. Alia took to Instagram to share a photo of herself, Ranbir and Raha with a jersey in the background with the name Raha on it. “Raha, in its purest form, means divine path, in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla – rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss,” Alia explained about the name chosen by Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor.
The two got married on April 14, 2022 at their apartment in Mumbai.
