Ranbir Kapoor has reflected on the glorification of violence in his last film, Animal, emphasising the importance of responsible storytelling in cinema. “I completely agree with your opinion. As actors, this is our responsibility to bring movies that make a positive impact on society,” Ranbir said when he was asked about actors’ responsibility, acknowledging the influence that films can have on audiences. He was talking at the ongoing 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

However, Ranbir also stressed the need for actors to explore different genres and characters. “As actors, it’s important for me to dabble in different genres and characters, and play varied roles,” Ranbir explained, highlighting the importance of creative freedom and experimentation in the craft.

In addition to his acting career, Ranbir Kapoor has also expressed a desire to venture into film direction. He has been inspired by the life and legacy of his grandfather, Raj Kapoor, and has considered bringing his story to the big screen. “I have thought about it a lot. I have spoken to a lot of people about it. I have spoken to various filmmakers, including Mr. Bhansali, on how to make a film on Mr. Raj Kapoor’s life,” Ranbir revealed.

However, the actor acknowledged that making a biopic about his grandfather’s life would be a challenging task, requiring honesty and authenticity in portraying the highs and lows of his journey. “You see, a biopic is not something where you just highlight the success factor or the highs in a person’s life. You truly have to portray someone’s life honestly, showing the lows, showing the struggles, showing the relationship dynamics,” Ranbir explained.
