Actor Ranveer Singh‘s film Dhurandhar is all set to release tomorrow. Just a day ahead of its release, one of the film’s actors, Rakesh Bedi, has revealed that Dhurandhar also has a part two. During an interview with ITV Blink, Rakesh Bedi revealed that he has a major role to play in the film’s second instalment and also confirmed that Dhurandhar 2 will release in a couple of months.

Rakesh, who plays the role of a politician in Dhurandhar, went on to share that his performance in URI: The Surgical Strike was quite loved by director Aditya Dhar. He had promised Rakesh to work with him again but the veteran actor didn’t take him seriously. Then, in January 2024, when Dhurandhar went on floors, Rakesh Bedi was offered this role. Talking about his character, Rakesh Bedi says, “I am eagerly waiting for this film. Last year, in January, when the film was starting, Aditya offered me this role in Dhurandhar. In this film, I am playing a very different role, and that will be revealed in the second part. In Dhurandhar Part 1, I will be seen a little less, but I will be seen more in the second part. The second instalment is around the corner, it is ready and will be released in a month or two. My character is very endearing and menacing. It is inspired by a real-life politician from Pakistan; my look also resembles him.”

While the film has generated a lot of buzz due to its grand scale and stellar starcast, the spy thriller was also in the news due to the controversy surrounding it. Crossing all hurdles, Dhurandhar has been cleared by the CBFC with an A certification and a run time of 3 hours 34 minutes. The film has also become the longest Bollywood film to release after 17 years. Sharing more details about the film’s second part, Rakesh Bedia added, “Part 2 has been shot, they are just working on its post-production, it will be released in a couple of months at the most.”

Last month, Dhurandhar got into a legal battle after the makers were accused of making a film based on the life of the decorated Army Officer, Late Major Mohit Sharma. Later, Aditya Dhar clarified that Dhurandhar’s story was not related to the slain army officer. Commenting on the legal battle around the film, Rakesh Bedi also shared his views and said, “Every story comes from an inspiration. It’s a story about a spy who went from one country to another country. I salute Mohit Sharma for what he did. Dhurandhar may be inspired by it, but it’s not based on it. And I don’t have the authority to say much since I don’t know the entire case.”

Dhurandhar is set for a theatrical release on December 5. The film is directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by B62 Productions and Jio Studios. Other than Ranveer Singh and Rakesh Bedi, the film also stars debutante Sara Arjun in the lead role. Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R Madhavan will also be seen in important roles in the film.
