Pakistani comedian Iftikhar Thakur hails Kapil Sharma as ‘very down to earth’, claims he earns Rs 5 cr for stage shows
Pakistani comedian Iftikhar Thakur spoke about meeting Kapil Sharma, and working with Punjabi film actor Neeru Bajwa.

Pakistani comedian Iftikhar Thakur, who has worked in several Punjabi movies, recently appeared on Nadir Ali’s podcast and spoke about Indian comedian Kapil Sharma. He described Kapil as a “down to earth” person, who has no airs about his star status.
Iftikhar said, “Kapil is very down to earth. If you speak to him, or meet him, you won’t realise he is such a big star. He should have an attitude since he is a star, but he doesn’t.” He added, “When you meet him, you will feel like he is your childhood friend. He gives a hug and immediately, you are relaxed.”
When asked about his knowledge of Kapil’s renumeration for stage shows, Iftikhar said that Kapil must be asking for Rs 5 crore per show, and said, “He can because he is worth it.”
Iftikhar Thakur has also collaborated with actor Neeru Bajwa in the Punjabi film Maa Da Ladla. He said that she transforms in front of the camera, but in real life, she is is a simple, humble person. “She is a natural actress. She is different on screen, but is real life, she is completely different.”
He recalled his first meeting with Neeru, and shared that she made him tea as soon as they met. “My first meeting with her, we had just said hello. She said ‘you must be tired, I’ll make some tea for you’. I said ‘why would you make tea? Someone else will do it’. She said ‘no, you are a Punjabi and Punjabi tea is special’. She made such brilliant tea with cardamom. She doesn’t think that she’s a big star,” he recalled.
Iftikhar said that Indian artistes are more professional than their Pakistani counterparts. He said that they are well-rehearsed, punctual and always come prepared.
Iftikhar has appeared in Indian films such as Chal Mera Putt and its two sequels, Super Punjabi, Maa Da Ladla, among many others.
