Netizens thank Akshay Kumar for ‘giving the nation an amazing Akshaye Khanna’; actor says ‘Kabhi ghamand nahi kiya’
Netizens referred to their 2010 film Tees Maar Khan, where Akshay Kumar's character convinces Akshaye Khanna's character that he is 'Oscar' material.

(Photo: IMDb)When Tees Maar Khan released in theatres, it opened to poor reviews but still managed to succeed at the box office, thanks largely to Akshay Kumar’s humour, and Akshaye Khanna’s standout performance as Aatish Kapoor, and the chartbuster “Sheila Ki Jawani”. The film has returned to the headlines after several netizens pointed out that Akshay Kumar had recognised Akshaye Khanna’s exceptional acting talent long before Dhurandhar.
Fans referenced their dynamic in Tees Maar Khan, where Akshay’s character—a thief posing as a world-class director—flatters ‘superstar’ Aatish Kapoor (played by Akshaye Khanna) by convincing him he is “Oscar-level” material.
Now, with Akshaye Khanna’s resurgence in Hindi cinema through powerful roles such as Aurangzeb in Chhava and Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar, he has once again become a favourite among moviegoers.

During this wave of appreciation, a fan resurfaced a meme from Tees Maar Khan in which Akshay Kumar praises Akshaye Khanna’s acting calibre. The fan wrote on X, “Thank you director saab, for giving the nation such an amazing actor.”
Akshay picked up the post and quote-tweeted it, writing: “Kabhi ghamand nahi kiya bhai… kabhi ghamand nahi kiya.”
Akshay Kumar had also recently praised Dhurandhar, which stars Ranveer Singh. Sharing his thoughts on X, he wrote: “Watched Dhurandhar and I am blown away. What a gripping tale, and you have simply nailed it, Aditya Dhar. We need our stories to be told in a hard-hitting way and I am so glad that audiences are giving the film all the love it deserves.”
Released on December 5, Dhurandhar has had an impact on Akshaye Khanna’s career similar to how Animal transformed Bobby Deol’s trajectory with his role as Abrar. Despite criticism for their gore and violence, both films resonated strongly with audiences.
Dhurandhar has crossed the Rs 200-crore mark in India within seven days of release.
