Mrunal Thakur reveals reason behind her crying photo: ‘I am very bad at lying’
A few days back, Mrunal Thakur had posted a picture of herself crying on social media. The photo went viral on social media.

Actor Mrunal Thakur shared a picture of herself crying a few days back. The photo got a lot of attention from social media users. Recently, during an event, she revealed that she decided to post the picture as she wanted the current generation to know that an actor’s life is not only about vacations and happier times.
Speaking at News18 Rising India Summit 2023, Mrunal shared, “I am very bad at lying and what is more important is that today’s generation that is so engrossed in social media, and thinks that (we) are vacationing somewhere, (we) are happy, it is not like that.”
The Sita Raman actor wants the young generation to know that behind a successful actor is a lot of “struggle and hard work.” She said that youngsters who are trying to find a footing in the film industry should be determined. “You need to make sure you work hard and you do not give up because there are so many people I am meeting who give up after one or two attempts. They change careers,” she opined.

While sharing the picture where her eyes welled up with tears, Mrunal had written, “Yesterday was tough. But today I’m stronger, wiser and happy! Everybody has pages in their stories they don’t read out loud but I’m choosing to read mine out loud – because maybe someone out needs to learn the lesson I learnt. Taking one day at a time! It’s ok to be naive and vulnerable.”
Like many who try their luck in the Hindi film industry and fail, Mrunal too thought of giving up but decided against it. She shared, “There was a phase when Love Sonia was not getting released because it was such a hard-hitting subject. At that point, I felt I should give up. But somewhere I thought, if I don’t give my 100 percent now, I don’t want to regret it.”
Mrunal Thakur started her acting career in 2012 with the TV show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan. She then appeared in Kumkum Bhagya. She made her Bollywood debut with Love Sonia in 2018 and later starred in movies like Super 30, Batla House, Ghost Stories, Toofaan and Dhamaka. She was last seen in Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi-led film, Selfiee.
Mrunal will be next seen in Pippa along with Ishaan Khatter. The film is directed by Raja Krishna Menon.
