Australia (AUS) vs South Africa (SA) 2nd ODI Cricket Match Live Score Updates: Australia lost the first T20I by 98 runs. Australia (AUS) vs South Africa (SA) 2nd ODI Cricket Match Highlights: South Africa recorded a landmark ODI series victory by 84 runs after pace spearhead Lungi Ngidi and Nandre Burger orchestrated a tepid collapse by the Australian batters in Mackay on Friday. The defeat meant a third consecutive series defeat in ODIs for Australia and a third in four series against the Proteas at home in the last 17 years. Ngidi’s 5/42 broke the back of the 278 chase despite an entertaining 87-run knock from wicket-keeper Josh Inglis.
Earlier, an impressive bowling effort helped Australia remain on course to level the three-match ODI series in Mackay on Friday as they restricted South Africa to 277 all out at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay. With Temba Bavuma rested due to workload management, Aiden Markram had stepped in as captain but fell for a four-ball duck in the second over.

Australia were much sharper with the new ball, with Josh Hazlewood and incoming Xavier Bartlett constricting the top-order. However, an enterprising 78-ball 88 from Matthew Breetzke ensured South Africa put on a strong total on a tacky, two-paced pitch. While Breetzke equalled the world record for most consecutive fifties from debut, Tristan Stubbs chipped in with a quality 74 in 87 deliveries.

AUS vs SA 2nd ODI Live Score: Can Australia put on a better show?
As Marsh had mentioned, South Africa had not only outplayed the hosts with the ball but also racked up a sizable total in the opening game. Australia will have to hope the bowling stocks fire early today to keep the Proteas within limits. The middle-order is thin on experience and Marsh will hope that at least three of the top six will go onto have a fine evening. Australia women's skipper Alyssa Healy has conceded that dew wouldn't be a major factor and the Aussies will certainly keep that in mind.
