‘Kumar Sanu’s wife smashed my car,’ recalls singer’s ex-girlfriend: ‘I was like a wife to him, considered him my husband’

Actor Kunickaa Sadanand claimed that she dated Kumar Sanu in the 1990s. She also claimed that his ex-wife smashed her car.

Kumar Sanu, who was one of the most celebrated singers in the 1990s, allegedly had an extramarital affair with actor Kunickaa Sadanand when he was at the peak of his career. In a recent interview, Kunickaa revealed that she met Kumar Sanu when she was finding her foot as an actress and was attracted to him. She shared that she and the singer made a strong connection after they met in Ooty where she was shooting, and he was on a vacation.

Kunickaa said that Kumar Sanu was in a “very difficult relationship” with his wife Rita at that time and on this trip, he was accompanied by his sister and nephew. While sharing a drink in everyone’s company, she said that he got drunk and tried to jump from the window of the hotel. “He started crying and he wanted to jump from the hotel’s window. He was very depressed. We held him down,” she shared with Siddharth Kannan and added that this incident “brought them closer.”

After coming back, Kumar Sanu started living separately from his wife and that’s when their relationship flourished. They lived lose to each other and she started guiding him in fitness and fashion. Kunickaa said that their relationship lasted for almost five years but in all this while, they never made in public in Mumbai. “I was like a wife to him, I considered him like my husband,” she said.

In all this time, Kumar Sanu’s wife was quite upset with him as he was supposed to give her money for the kids, and when he did not pay her on time, she would blame Kunickaa. “His wife smashed my car with a hockey stick. She would come outside my house and scream. But I understood her. She wanted money for her children, she wasn’t wrong. She said she didn’t want him back,” she said.

Kunickaa and Kumar eventually broke up and he moved on too. He then married his present wife Saloni and has two daughters with her.
