Khalnayak cast reunites for Subhash Ghai, Mukta’s anniversary, fans ask, ‘Will there be a Khalnayak 2?’

Excited fans were quick to ask if there is a sequel of the 1993 blockbuster Khalnayak in the works. A fan wrote on Instagram, “Full Khalnayak team!,” while another one wrote, “Will there be a khalnayak season 2 movie?? i hope.” A comment read, “All legends in one frame.”

Khalnayak won several awards upon its release. The film’s music became immensely popular, especially the song “Choli Ke Peeche” featuring Madhuri Dixit and Neena Gupta. Khalnayak completed 30 years of release in June this year. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Subhash had said that the film lost out on a National Film Award because of “Choli Ke Peeche” .

He said, “It was nominated for the National Film Award also. I lost on the National Award only because of ‘Choli Ke Peeche’. Because it was a very controversial song.”

Just a month before Khalnayak’s release, Sanjay Dutt was arrested for possession of arms which were a part of the consignment used in the 1993 Bombay blasts.
