Kartik Aaryan’s first look from Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion out: Actor plays a ‘real hero’ who refuses to give up

Kartik Aaryan, who was recently seen in Kiara Advani-starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha, recently dropped his first look from his upcoming film Chandu Champion. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is a sports biopic, but the makers are yet to declare the sports icon the film is based on. The first look has Kartik in a blazer sporting a short haircut with a few bruises on his face.

Kartik shared the look with a caption that read, “When INDIA is written on your chest, it’s a DIFFERENT feeling 🇮🇳 Proud to be playing a Real Hero 🙏🏻 A Man Who Refuses To Give Up”. The actor also shared that he had already completed the first schedule of the film.

The film is rumoured to be the biopic of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. He won a gold medal in the 1972 Summer Paralympics in Germany. He was honoured with a Padma Shri in 2018.

Chandu Champion is being directed by Kabir Khan who is known for films like 83, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Tiger Zinda Hai among many others. This film marks the first collaboration between Kabir and Kartik.

Kartik has had two releases in 2023 so far. The actor was first seen in Shehzada which bombed at the box office. Recently, his film Satyaprem Ki Katha, did decently well at the box office. It collected Rs 77.10 crore during its theatrical run, as per Bollywood Hungama.

Apart from Chandu Champion, Kartik has a few other films in his kitty as well. He will be seen in the next installment of the Aashiqui franchise. He was previously announced as the lead hero in Hansal Mehta’s Captain India. The makers released the first poster of the film but so far, there haven’t been any other announcements.
