Karan Johar volunteers to play Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Seema aunty’ as actor wants ‘romance’ in real-life: ‘I am a big matchmaker’

At his upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri's trailer launch event in Mumbai, actor Kartik Aaryan revealed that he is looking for romance in real-life. Karan Johar volunteered to find a girl for him.

Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’s trailer has been unveiled by the makers. At the trailer launch event in Mumbai on Thursdays the film’s team – lead cast, producers, and director opened up about their upcoming romantic-comedy dream project. While addressing the media, Kartik revealed that he is looking for romance in his real life as well. The film’s producer, Karan Johar, offered to be one a matchmaker for the actor.

A journalist asked Kartik about his real-life romantic life, when he replied, “I am looking for true romance, for real. Finding it on screen because I am not getting it in real life.” When he noticed Karan smiling to his answer, the actor questioned his reaction. “I am very happy that you are looking for someone, I am ready to give my blessings to you. Please search, you will find someone soon,” said the filmmaker. “You help me,” requested Kartik.

Following which, Karan laughed and mentioned, “I have gotten many people married, some information comes to you, at times it doesn’t even reach you. I am a very big matchmaker. I am better than Seema aunty, but I can’t spill all my facts publicly. I am taking this responsibility. After this film releases, I will take the responsibility of being your Seema aunty.”

When it comes to his film’s marketing, Kartik has often been tagged as a ‘genius’. Addressing the label at the event, he said, “I have no idea. I am just passionate about the filmmaking process, involvement on set, and even surrendering to the director. It starts when I enter a film and I maintain it till end of film’s marketing and after. I do it very passionately and intensely. Marketing plays a very important role, and if it works, then such terms are coined for you. It sometimes gives you validation that you are doing the right things for the film.”

The film’s producer Karan Johar couldn’t stop heaping praises for Kartik at the launch event, as he expressed, “What blew my mind was the level of commitment he brings to the table. He is very humble in the way he spoke about his contribution. He becomes a lead actor, a supportive producer, a collaborative assistant director, to every single department. I don’t know when he sleeps, he is a vampire.”

He continued, “Have a missed call from him at 1 am, 2 am, anytime at night. He sleeps and wakes up thinking about the film. I have worked with so many actors who work really hard, but I am amazed at him, sitting quietly and giving his suggestions. Want to appreciate him on his face. I wish him success because he truly deserves it. He is an amazing person.”

Besides Ananya Panday and Kartik Aaryan, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri also stars Jackie Shroff, Neena Gupta, Tiku Talsania and many others. The rom-com is set to hit the theatres on December 25. The film’s music has been composed by popular duo Vishal-Shekhar.
