Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 21: The Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD has been playing in theatres for three weeks now, and thanks to an uncontested run in the beginning and a non-performance from recent releases, the film is continuing to rake in the money at the box office. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film has managed to make Rs 595.75 crore nett at the domestic box office so far, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

On its 21st day in the cinemas, the film collected Rs 6.5 crore, which is slightly higher than the previous day’s Rs 5.1 crore. This possibly happened because of the holiday of Muharram, which was observed in most parts of the country on Wednesday. The producers of Kalki 2898 AD, Vyjayanthi Movies, announced on July 13 that the film had made over Rs 1000 crore worldwide on July 13, which was the 16th day of the film’s release. They have not made any announcements since then. The film has made around Rs 45 crore nett in India since then, which hints that they might have possibly crossed Pathaan’s lifetime worldwide collection of Rs 1055 crore.

Kalki 2898 AD is now trailing Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 film Jawan, which made Rs 640.25 crore nett at the domestic box office and collected Rs 1160 crore worldwide. It is expected that Kalki 2898 AD will cross Jawan’s numbers, considering there are no major pan-Indian releases in the next few weeks. Kalki 2898 AD is also trailing the likes of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1788 crore), RRR (Rs 1230 crore) and KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore). Aamir Khan’s Dangal leads the list with Rs 2070 crore at the worldwide box office.

Kalki 2898 AD might witness some competition from the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Bad Newz, which is releasing this Friday. But the film has been performing exceptionally well in the Hindi-speaking region, having overtaken Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter to become the year’s biggest ‘Bollywood’ movie. The Nag Ashwin film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan and Deepika Padukone, and will have a sequel as well.
