Janhvi Kapoor asked a boy to jump out her first floor window, was caught by dad Boney Kapoor: ‘That’s when he put the grill’

Janhvi Kapoor shared that she asked a boy to jump from her first floor window because she did not want to let them out through the door but was caught by her dad Boney Kapoor anyway.

Janhvi Kapoor, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Mr and Mrs Mahi, recently shared an anecdote from the time when her father Boney Kapoor put bars on her window after she was caught sneaking out a boy from her room of their first floor apartment. Janhvi laughed as she shared the story on Mashable India’s YouTube channel and said that while she was trying to be sneaky, her father saw it happen on the CCTV.

While driving outside her old house in Mumbai, which was actually the first house bought by her late mother Sridevi in Mumbai, she shared, “I snuck someone in once and I didn’t want to let them out the front door so I asked them to jump. My car was there. It was a tall car, it was a Lexus. So I just said that jump onto the car and just roll over. He did. And Dad saw it on the CCTV camera anyway. And he was like ‘what are you doing?’ That’s when he put this grill outside my room so no one could jump in and out.”

Janhvi also shared when she asked the boy to jump out from her window on to the car, her driver was sitting inside the car, but she did not realise it at the time. The actor did not name the boy whom she snuck out from her room.

She then recalled how her father Boney Kapoor once “jumped out of a hotel window” when he was trying to woo her mother Sridevi. “You know Dad’s jumped out of a hotel window once when he was visiting Mom. He jumped out the window and she started laughing. He said ‘that’s when I knew ‘pat gayi‘,” she recalled with a smile.

When asked if Boney shared this story often, Janhvi said that every night after 10 pm, Boney likes to reminisce the old days and it is now his “favourite thing to do. “Every night, after 10 pm, when music channels start playing old songs, Papa looks at me and says… ‘you know, your mom and me…’ It is like his favourite thing to do,” she shared.

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi were married for almost 22 years until her death in 2018.
