As Kareena Kapoor gears up for her OTT debut with Netflix, the streaming platform, on Friday, revealed the title of Sujoy Ghosh directorial. Titled Jaane Jaan, the film is an adaptation of the book ‘Devotion of Suspect X’ by Japanese author Keigo Higashino. The film also stars Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Netflix released an announcement video on Friday with a few clips from the film. Kareena’s character opens the video as she is seen singing the yesteryear song ‘Aa Jane Jaan.’

Jaane Jaan is said to be a crime thriller. Earlier, Sujoy Ghosh said in a statement, “Jaane Jaan is based on the book which has been the love of my life for a long long time. From the day I read Devotion of Suspect X, I wanted to adapt it into a film. It was the most amazing love story I had ever read and today thanks to Kareena, Jaideep and Vijay that story is alive on screen. We all worked very hard to tell this story and hopefully the audience will love it as much as we do.”

Revealing that her first digital project “has all the right ingredients,” Kareena Kapoor had earlier said in a statement, “It’s one that has all the right ingredients – a great story, a visionary director and a super talented cast and crew.”

Jaane Jaan releases on September 21 on Netflix.
