Taapsee Pannu allegedly denied posing for a photograph with an influencer who attended a promotional event for the actor’s upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein. On Friday, the makers of Khel Khel Mein, starring Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, Aditya Seal, Ammy Virk, Taapse and Fardeen Khan, unveiled the film’s first song “Hauli Hauli”. For the event, several influencers were invited to the venue. A video from the event showed a woman seemingly approaching Taapsee for a selfie, but being rejected.

In the video, the influencer can be seen greeting Taapsee Pannu with a handshake and asking for a selfie, who seems to be agreeable to a photograph at first, but quickly turns away and says something to her with a smile. This creates an awkward situation for the influencer, who looks puzzled. In the background, Taapsee’s co-stars can be seen standing on the stage while the host continues to talk about the film. Many shared the video online. Commenting on one such video, the influencer, Ananya Dwivedi, said, “That’s me. And I don’t understand why would someone deny a selfie when you’re already surrounded by cameras and the only reason influencers like me were called is to promote HER song! She really needs a better PR training.”

The video was also posted on Reddit, where people shared their take on the incident. A user wrote, “Yeah but it also looked like she barely said a few words and pulled out her camera. Taapsee probably just was pointing to proper photos.” Another comment read, “I don’t think Taapsee is anyway rude in the video.” A third comment read, “I have been to a few celeb meet and greets in the past. There was one with Kareena Kapoor for a beauty brand, where we were strictly told that no selfies and individual pictures can be taken due to time constraints. We were allowed official group pictures (in a group of 6) that were taken by the brand’s team and we were provided the pictures later. We didn’t cry about it on the internet.”

Many believed Taapsee wasn’t obligated to pose for a selfie in the first place, while others suggested the actress needs to give a befitting reply to the influencer. Meanwhile, there were also a group of people on Instagram who called Taapsee’s behaviour “rude” and “arrogant”.

Khel Khel Mein, directed by Mudassar Aziz, is scheduled to release on August 15. The film also marks Fardeen Khan’s feature film comeback after his 2010 film Dulha Mil Gaya.
