Imtiaz Ali is ‘shocked’ by attack on Saif Ali Khan, Pooja Bhatt is angry over lawlessness: ‘First thing coming to mind are his injuries’

The attack on Saif Ali Khan has shocked the film industry, with many celebrities voicing their concern and anger over the incident, while also raising questions about security.

Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times while trying to protect his family—wife Kareena Kapoor and children Jeh Ali Khan and Taimur Ali Khan—from an intruder during an attempted robbery at his Bandra home in the early hours of January 16. The actor underwent surgery and is currently recovering. The attack has shocked the film industry, with many celebrities voicing their concern and anger over the incident, while also raising questions about security.

Jr NTR, who worked alongside Saif in the film Devara, expressed his concern for the actor’s health. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Shocked and saddened to hear about the attack on Saif sir. Wishing and praying for his speedy recovery and good health.”

Megastar Chiranjeevi Konidela also conveyed his well wishes for Saif’s recovery, writing, “Deeply Disturbed by news of the attack by an intruder on #SaifAliKhan Wishing and praying for his speedy recovery.”

Ravi Kishan spoke to the media about the incident, sharing his sadness. Speaking to PTI, he said, “It’s sad. He is my friend and fellow artist… Mumbai Police is investigating and the thief will be caught. I pray for his recovery.” Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal posted on X, “Shocked to hear about the attack on Saif Ali Khan. Wishing him a speedy recovery and strength to his family during this difficult time.”

The security at Bandra, one of Mumbai’s most posh areas, has now come under scrutiny after the attack. In a post on social media, actress Pooja Bhatt questioned the growing lawlessness in Mumbai, writing, “Can this lawlessness please be curbed @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice. We need more Police presence in Bandra. The city & especially the queen of the subburbs, have never felt so unsafe before. ?Kind Attn @ShelarAshish @mieknathshinde @AjitPawarSpeaks @Dev_Fadnavis ???.”

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who worked with Saif Ali Khan on Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail, and with Kareena Kapoor Khan on Jab We Met, told News18, “It is shocking to hear about the incident with Saif. At this point, the first things that are coming to my mind are that his injuries are not severe and that he’s going to recover soon.”

Saif underwent both neurosurgery and plastic surgery following the attack, with one of the stab wounds being dangerously close to his spine. The actor is now recovering after the attack.
