I Want to Talk box office collection Day 4: Abhishek Bachchan movie fails Monday test; earns Rs 17 lakh
I Want to Talk box office collection Day 4: Unfortunately, Abhishek Bachchan and Shoojit Sircar's film failed the crucial Monday test, earning less than Rs 20 lakh.

I Want to Talk box office collection Day 4: Despite receiving widespread critical acclaim, director Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk, starring Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role, continues to struggle to translate praise into box-office earnings. Unfortunately, the film failed the crucial Monday test, earning less than Rs 20 lakh. At this rate, it seems unlikely that the film will even reach the Rs 3 crore mark in the domestic market.
On Monday, I Want To Talk recorded an India nett collection of just Rs 17 lakh, bringing its total earnings in the domestic market to Rs 1.5 crore, industry tracker Sacnilk reported. This represents a steep 67.92 per cent drop compared to its Sunday collection of Rs 53 lakh. Notably, it earned less than The Sabarmati Report, starring Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna and Ridhi Dogra, which, despite being dubbed as a propaganda film, brought in Rs 75 lakh on the same day that marked its 11th day in theatres.

During the day, I Want To Talk recorded a dismal overall occupancy rate of just 8.71 per cent in the Hindi market. The day began with a 4.39 per cent occupancy in the morning, rose slightly to 7.20 per cent in the afternoon, dipped to 6.47 per cent in the evening and peaked at 16.79 per cent during the night shows.
Featuring a supporting cast that includes Ahilya Bamroo, Johny Lever, Pearl Dey, Jayant Kriplani and Kristin Goddard, Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead role in the movie, of a man facing a terminal cancer diagnosis with only 100 days to live. In her review of I Want To Talk, SCREEN’s Shubhra Gupta wrote, “Abhishek Bachchan lets go of vanity, revealing a thickened gut, and scars-on-the-belly, and an ability to bare. But Shoojit Sircar’s film leaves you wanting more.”
