“I have the most chemistry with Nawaz in this film, I go on record to say that. I feel like we are a match made in hell almost. The way we are with each other, the way we talk to each other, you will get to see people from two different backgrounds pitted against each other. It is a very exciting, thrilling watch in that sense. I think Sriram has captioned it beautifully,” Varun Dhawan told reporters at the press meet of Badlapur in New Delhi

Varun said initially shared an uncomfortable kind of energy as it was reuired for the movie.

“There is a give and take in a scene and the first conversation that I had with Nawazuddin Siddiqui about the film when we were blocking a scene, I understood that this is the way he wants to work. You have to feed off each other and it was very uncomfortable kind of energy that we shared while shooting the film because that is the way we need to be. Once, as actors we understood that we have to be like that,”he said.

Varun said that he thought that the makers were crazy when they narrated him the script. He said, “I thought why they would want me in this film, because I am much younger for the part.” Varun says he accepted the movie taking it as the biggest challenge of his life.

When asked about the same and is this movie would help him establish himself, the actor said, “What I hope from this role, not only for myself, but I do hope for the sake of cinema is that films with different themes are being made. Otherwise I read “Old wine in the new bottle” in reviews and this went in to my head. So, the attempt is not to say that all that stuff is bad, it is great and I will be doing all those kind of films. But the attempt is that we must get something new so that the people are entertained. ‘Badlapur’ is exactly like that. It’s not a selfish effort; it’s come from a very pure side of me.”
