Exes Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan share a hug on IIFA 2025 stage, Karan Johar makes fun of Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada

Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Karan Johar and several others landed in Jaipur for the 25th edition of the IIFA Awards.

IIFA 2025 kicked off its first leg in the pink city of Jaipur this week. Several stars were spotted arriving in Jaipur on Friday, for the 25th anniversary of the award show. After years of seemingly zero contact, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan were seen greeting each other at the event. Kareena joined Shahid on the stage, where both of them could be seen exchanging smiles and hugging each other. The ex-couple then proceeded to talk with director and producer Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan before posing for a few pictures.

Shahid and Kareena dated each other back in the early 2000s before calling it quits in 2007. They have appeared together in movies like Fida (2004), Chup Chup Ke (2006), Udta Punjab (2016), and the 2007 hit Jab We Met.

Kareena married actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012, while Shahid tied the knot with Mira Rajput in 2015.

Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan also exchanged a few words and a hug on the stage. The duo appeared together in Luka Chuppi (2019), Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), and Shehzada (2023). They were rumoured to be dating around this time, but both of them maintained that they were just good friends.

Actor Madhuri Dixit turned back the clock with a small dance at the award show. The Hum Aapke Hai Koun actor danced to her iconic track ‘Ek, Do, Teen’ from the 1988 film Tezaab.

This year, IIFA is going to be hosted by Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar. Kartik and IIFA posted a snippet of their rehearsal session on Instagram, where both men are roasting each other. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor made a joke about Karan losing a lot of weight, saying, ‘It seems as if only Karan has arrived and Johar is yet to come.’.

The director quickly fired a rebuttal calling Kartik “Mr Kaizaada,” to which Kartik replied, “The joke should be on Shehzada,” referring to his film. Karan joked that the less said about Shehzada the better.

The 25th iteration of the IIFA awards has just started to pick up steam. The award show will also feature a special screening of Sholay at the legendary Raj Mandir theatre to celebrate the movie’s 50 years.
