Elvish Yadav, who was previously known for his YouTube vlogs, became a national sensation after he won Bigg Boss OTT 2. Elvish has found popularity all over the world because of his social media presence but while he gets a lot of love from his fans, he has also been in a few dangerous situations. In a new podcast with Bharti Singh, Elvish revealed that he once got an extortion call for Rs 1 crore where the person threatened his life if he refused to pay the money.

Elvish shared that he was in London when he got a message that ended with the person asking for Rs 1 crore or they would kill him. Elvish consulted with a few of his friends and while one of them asked him to ignore this message, the other friend sent a long expletive-filled voice note to the culprit. After the conversation escalated, at one point, the culprit asked one of Elvish’s associates for his father’s contact number. “He then said I have a discount for you,” recalled Elvish with a laugh.

The demand for extortion went down from Rs 1 crore to Rs 40-50 lakh and the person confessed that he was asking for money because he wanted to buy a Ford Endeavour. Soon after, when Elvish returned to India, he was asked to file an official police complaint against the threats as he was quite concerned if the man who has threatened to kill him might act on it. Soon after, the complaint was carried in media reports and everyone knew about it.

“The police, they caught the guy in six hours from Gujarat. He was an RTO agent who got my phone number from my car’s registration,” he said. When asked if Elvish actually met the person after his arrest, he said that he was given the option but he chose not to meet him.

The accused, Saqeer Makrani, 25, was arrested in Gujarat in October 2023. As per the police, Saqeer initially demanded Rs 40 lakh and later increased that demand to Rs 1 crore.
