Devara advance box office: Jr NTR’s RRR follow-up aims for Rs 100 crore-plus opening on Friday, has already sold 6 lakh tickets in India

Headlined by Jr NTR, Devara also marks the Telugu debut of Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is gearing for a wide release on September 27.

The upcoming saga Devara Part 1 is looking to break some box office records this weekend. Tickets for the much-anticipated action spectacle have opened for advance booking ahead of its September 27 release, and the results are highly encouraging. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Devara is on track for an opening of over Rs 100 cr worldwide.

Devara Part 1 is headlined by Jr NTR and also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, who plays the main antagonist. According to Sacnilk, the film’s pre-sales have crossed Rs 28 crore in India by Tuesday, with worldwide sales currently sitting at around Rs 50 cr gross.

The film has so far sold 6,50,118 tickets across six thousand shows. More shows will be added in the next two days, including in Hindi, which will open its full-fledged advance bookings on Wednesday. The original Telugu version of the film is performing the best, dominating with over 90% of the sales.

With an India gross of Rs 28 cr already, Devara Part 1 is set to comfortably register a global gross of over Rs 100 cr on Friday. If the film opens to positive response, Devara Part 1’s opening could be even higher. This is Jr NTR’s first release after the global success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR in 2022. He will next make his Bollywood debut with War 2, in which he will face off against Hrithik Roshan. The film is a part of Yash Raj Film’s spy universe, which includes Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Salman Khan’s Tiger franchise and the upcoming Alia Bhatt-Sharvari starrer Alpha.

Directed by Kortala Siva, known for helming blockbusters like Srimanthudu, Mirchi, and Bharat Ane Nenu, Devara marks the Telugu debut of both Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Meka Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, and Murali Sharma.

Devara was initially announced as a standalone movie, but was later split into two parts, with the first one set to release in cinemas on September 27. Devara Part 1 will enjoy a solo release, including in the Hindi market, which still continues to be under the spell of Stree 2.
