After feud with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Deepika Padukone to star in Atlee’s next with Allu Arjun. Watch video

Deepika Padukone will seemingly play a warrior in what seems like a period drama. This is her second collaboration with director Atlee, and first with actor Allu Arjun.

Deepika Padukone, who recently walked out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit, has now joined hands with her Jawan director Atlee. Deepika will now be seen in Atlee’s next, which also stars Allu Arjun. On Saturday, producers of the film, Sun Pictures, shared an announcement video which revealed Deepika Padukone as a part of the film.

In the video shared by the makers, Atlee can be seen in a narration with Deepika. The video then shows her shooting for VFX shots. She was seen wearing a body suit and shooting for what seemed like an action sequence while seated on a VFX horse.

Sharing the video, Sun Pictures wrote on X, “The Queen marches to conquer! Welcome onboard Deepika Padukone.” The announcement has also sparked rumours of association of actors Mrunal Thakur and Janhvi Kapoor with the film. However, an official announcement is awaited.

A similar video with actor Allu Arjun was released back in April, where the actor was seen flying to Los Angeles along with Atlee and meeting the team of VFX. The film, seemingly a period drama, is said to feature some creatures as well.

After the success of Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa: The Rule, AA22 will mark the first ever collaboration of the actor with Atlee in his acting career.

Deepika Padukone has lately signed several pan-India projects headed by South filmmakers. After starring in Atlee’s Jawan and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, she was set to star opposite Prabhas in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. However, due to disagreement on shift timings and remuneration, the actress walked out of the film. The incident eventually turned into a feud. Now, the actor has announced her second collaboration with Atlee after their 2024 film Jawan, which earned over Rs 1000 crore worldwide.
