Deepika Padukone is ‘most brutal’ officer of Singham Again; Ranveer Singh says ‘Aag laga degi’ as she shares first look

Actor Deepika Padukone has joined Rohit Shetty’s cop universe as ‘Lady Singham’. She will be seen in a rowdy avatar in the filmmaker’s next, Singham Again. She revealed her first look and character’s name from the upcoming film, which also stars her husband Ranveer Singh. In the film, Deepika will be playing the role of a police officer, named Shakti Shetty.

In the first look, Deepika is seen sitting on a pile of bodies as a building burns in the backdrop. She holds a pistol, aiming at the mouth of a gangster. Her expression looks menacing and energetic. She captioned the image, “Introducing…Shakti Shetty!”

As Deepika shared the first look pictures, Ranveer commented on them saying, “AAG LAGA DEGI 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.” Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor also dropped many fire emojis in the comments section.

Director Rohit Shetty also shared Deepika’s first look and wrote in the caption, “Naari Sita ka bhi roop hai aur Durga ka bhi. Meet the most brutal and violent officer of our cop universe…Shakti Shetty…My lady Singham..Deepika Padukone”.

Ranveer also left a comment on Shetty’s post, “‘Re Deva!!!!AALI RE AALI !!”

Singham Again’s shooting has commenced in Hyderabad. The film will bring back Ajay Devgn in the leading role along with Ranveer, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika.

Rohit shared the photographs from the ‘mahurat’ of the film on his social media account and wrote, “Singham, Singham returns, Simmba, Sooryavanshi…12 Years ago, when we made Singham, we never thought that it would turn into a Cop Universe! Today, we begin filming Singham Again… the 5th film in our cop franchisee. Isme hum apni jaan laga denge! Bas aapke pyaar aur dua ki zaroorat hai! (We will put our hearts into it. All we need is your love and blessings.)”

Besides Singham Again, Rohit will also be making his digital debut with Indian Police Force, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi.
