When Meenakshi Seshadri was hit by a stone intended for Chunky Panday: ‘A man came after watching my film Khatron Ke Khiladi…’

Actor Chunky Panday has spent over three decades in the film industry, playing mostly comic roles after a short stint as leading man. But he has also been at the receiving end of some harsh criticism. Recently, Panday recalled how a man once threw a stone at him after being disappointed by his 1988 film Khatron Ke Khiladi. Khatron Ke Khiladi was a multi-starrer action drama, helmed by T Rama Rao. It starred Panday, along with Sanjay Dutt, Dharmendra, Madhuri Dixit, Neelam, Shakti Kapoor and many others.

While promoting his upcoming show Pop Kaun, Panday recalled how during the shoot of his 1990 film Tadap, a man threw a stone at him. But the stone injured his co-actor Meenakshi Seshadri. Chunky Panday told Siddharth Kanan, “I have received the maximum criticism. I was shooting for a film outside a theater. A man came after watching my film Khatron Ke Khiladi and he threw a stone at my head. It was a small stone, it hit my head and then it hit the shoulder of the heroine.”

The actor continued, “Mere sar ko kuch nahi hua, par heroine ko stitches aaye (It didn’t hurt me, but the heroine got stitches) Maine bola bhai you wasted it (I told the man that you wasted the chance). But Khatron Ke Khiladi was a good film.” Chunky Panday has been acting in the movies since 1987, but now, the younger generation knows him as actor Ananya Panday’s father. Even in the trailer of Pop Kaun, he is heard joking about being her father. Asked how Ananya reacted to the joke, Chunky Panday recalled, “She said, ‘Papa, you are using me’. I told her, ‘Why not, you are my baby.”

Ananya Panday made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student of the Year 2, co-starring Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria. She was last seen alongside Vijay Deverakonda in the 2022 film Liger. Next, she has Dream Girl 2 and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan in the pipeline.
