Actor Ashish Vidyarthi made his acting debut with 1991 film Kaal Sandhya and has since played main, supporting, and antagonist roles in Hindi as well as regional films. On Wednesday, Ashish wrote a long note asking fellow actors to keep pushing forward despite "hate, negative criticism, remarks, and unpleasant comments." The actor shared pictures from his early days in the film industry and wrote a long message. His note started with, “I Am Open to Work… & Shall Always Be! Our work should speak for us, as part of our extended identity, not as our whole identity, but something that we must be proud of. We spend all of our glorious years, our youth, working towards creating a better future for ourselves and for those dependent on us. But why should these important years of our life be something that we feel embarrassed to talk of, ashamed of, or even find ourselves belittled to speak about? And why do I choose to talk about this today?” Ashish Vidyarthi wrote in the note how he faced criticism and had become ashamed of talking about his negative roles. The actor also shared how he now takes pride in his work and talks about it a lot. So I took up acting jobs even though they weren't the kind of roles that I wanted to play as an actor. With that kind of work came hate, negative criticism, remarks, and unpleasant comments that no one would like to hear about themselves. I felt ashamed to talk about my roles in those films because villains aren't supposed to feel proud of their work! Are they? Everything affected me: the words, the phrases, those remarks, and yet I knew I had to go on to provide for those that were part of my happiness. Life is a great teacher, and our experiences provide us with great wisdom. As much as I get appreciated for my work, the negative criticism continues to flow in. But today, I choose to PROUDLY talk about my work in and outside the field of acting, be it through my social media, my talks, other projects, or my entrepreneurial ventures. I take great pride in talking about my work and sharing about it no matter how big or small, or how significant or insignificant people may find it. After all, I have poured my heart and soul into it, and there is no way I am letting anyone belittle it. I know that we all have those days when we feel that the work we are doing has no value, and the people around us may also make us feel that way. Through this post, I want to let you know that you don't have to hand over that power to anybody else, and that there is absolutely no reason for anyone to make you feel ashamed about your job. Here's me PROUDLY sharing my work through my social media platforms and I hope that this post inspires you too.” The actor concluded by writing, “So lead and live fearlessly, sharing your amazing work with the world! Let people see what you are capable of. And don’t be afraid to stand up for your work, even if it’s not what everyone else expects. You are the only one who gets to decide how you feel about your work. So be proud of what you do, no matter what anyone else says.” The 58-year-old actor was recently in the news for his second marriage with Rupali Barua.
