Shah Rukh Khan ran from pillar to post after his son Aryan Khan was arrested in an alleged drug case in 2021. While Aryan was given a clean chit in 2022, the period that he spent in prison in October 2021, which was nearly a month, was quite taxing for the movie star as he was relentlessly trying to get bail for his son. In a recent interview, Aryan’s lawyer shared that he had initially refused to take the case as he was on a holiday in London but Shah Rukh managed to convince his wife, who then convinced him to fly to Mumbai and argue Aryan’s case.
In a chat with Republic TV, Mukul Rohatgi, who is the Former Attorney-General of India, said that for him, this was a “regular bail matter” which became big because of SRK’s association. “According to me, it was a regular bail matter, as far as I am concerned and I have done thousands of them. It just happened that the personality is important. And therefore, you know, everybody is looking at it. But in short, I was in the UK on a holiday and these were Covid times,” he shared.

Mukul shared that Shah Rukh offered him a private jet but he didn’t take it. “Mr Khan was gracious enough. He offered me a private jet, which I didn’t take. I am not very fond of small jets. So I flew down to Mumbai and Shah Rukh had himself checked into the same hotel that I usually stay at, Trident, Nariman Point,” he shared.
“I found him to be quite keen and intelligent. He had made a lot of notes and points and stuff like that, apart from the lawyers. And he discussed it with me, and then we argued it . It was argued for two half days or three half days or something like that, and finally, the bail was granted. And I promptly went back to England to spend the rest of my holiday. That’s how this thing happened,” he shared.
Aryan Khan recently made fun of his arrest in his debut show The Ba***ds of Bollywood where he implied that he was arrested for no reason.
