Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty are currently celebrating the success of their latest film Singham Again. In a recent interaction, Ajay discussed how he perceives a lack of “men” in the current generation of actors, expressing that audiences aren’t as convinced by their action scenes because they lack the essence of being seen as “men.”

Rohit also recalled Ajay’s escapades from the 90s. “I got a call once that he had gone to beat up somebody and there was a car behind him trying to stop him. There was a chase on in Mumbai,” he revealed.

Ajay accepted he has beaten up people, adding, “There have been many such instances but I don’t want to discuss them now.” When asked if he used any sort of weapons, Rohit said they would use soda bottles. “Usko hilake phir phatata tha woh (We would shake soda bottles and then they would explode),” he said.

Speaking to Ranveer Allahbadia, Ajay remarked, “In today’s world, you don’t see the dominating male personality. All are boys; you don’t see men-men. In the earlier generation, we saw men—even in my generation, from Jackie Shroff to Amitabh Bachchan, they were all men.”

Rohit Shetty added to Ajay’s perspective, “When Akshay Kumar was thrashing ten people or Sunny Deol was pulling out a hand pump, we would clap because we believed they could do it. In today’s generation, we don’t feel that anyone could actually do that.”

Ajay went on to explain why he considers the current generation of actors as “boys.” “There’s been a change in upbringing, and you don’t become a man just by building a body. There’s an attitude and approach toward life that’s missing,” he said.

During the interaction, Ajay also admitted that he has use a hockey stick during fights in the past, with Rohit revealing that Ajay used to keep a hockey stick in his car. When asked if he still fights, Ajay replied, “Everybody has become calm, I don’t fight anymore. I feel now it’s a waste of time. I think the other person will only end up getting hit, so I avoid fights.”
