Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who turned 58 today, marked the occasion by sharing a special message with his fans and well-wishers. Taking to social media, the actor reflected on his journey and expressed immense gratitude to those who have supported him over the years.

“Good morning, everyone! 58 years in the making, 34 years in this industry, over 150 films & counting. To everyone that ever believed in me, who bought a ticket, who signed me, produced me, directed me and guided me, this is your journey as much as mine,” he wrote. Alongside the note, Akshay also shared a specially designed artwork by Rahul Nanda, showcasing a collage of his most iconic roles from over three decades in cinema. The gesture, he said, was his way of giving back to the people who made his journey possible.

“I’m just here to say an eternal ‘Thank You’ for every kind action, unconditional support, and words of encouragement. I am nothing without you, my Birthday is a dedication to all those that still believe in me. Love & Prayers… Ps: Many thanks to the very talented Rahul Nanda for capturing my life’s work for my favourite people on the planet, my Fans,” he added.

Just days before his birthday, filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who has worked closely with Akshay Kumar over the years, spoke candidly about the actor’s versatility in an interview with Galatta Plus. He recalled how, early in their collaborations, he noticed a side of Akshay that even the actor himself may not have fully recognized.

“In my first two films when I was working with Akshay, I realised here is an actor who himself doesn’t know what he is capable of. He was just being labelled as an action hero and in that era he was changing his image by doing comedy films, but people were not taking him seriously. Maybe never was he considered a great actor or even a good actor by any reviewers, so he also kind of had this ‘I don’t care’ space. But I thought that he had a lot more to offer,” Shah said.

This year, Akshay Kumar continued to showcase his range taking on roles across diverse genres. His filmography in 2025 includes the action-packed Sky Force, the patriotic Kesari Chapter 2, the comedy sequel Housefull 5, and a special appearance in the Telugu film Kannappa, marking his debut in the language. Currently, the actor is shooting for Haiwaan, the Hindi adaptation of Mohanlal’s acclaimed 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam, where he stars alongside Saif Ali Khan. He has also wrapped up work on Bhooth Bangla, and is gearing up for the release of his next Jolly LLB 3, co-starring Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla.
