Watch | UPSC Civil Services 2023 AIR 1 Aditya Srivastava celebrates his success

Srivastava qualified the examination with Electrical Engineering as his optional subject. He completed his graduation -- BTech and MTech -- in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today declared the Civil Services 2023 exam results. Aditya Srivastava has achieved AIR 1. Born in 1997, Srivastava belongs to Lucknow and this was his third attempt at UPSC.

Srivastava (roll number: 2629523) qualified the examination with Electrical Engineering as his optional subject. He completed his graduation — BTech and MTech — in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur.

In a video being circulated on social media platforms, Aditya can be seen celebrating with his peers in a police academy. While his friends carry him on their shoulders, Srivastava can be seen beaming with joy. He is currently training to be an IPS officer in West Bengal.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK) also congratulated Aditya on his achievement.

As per his mock interview video available on YouTube, Aditya went to CMS School in Lucknow, after which he completed his graduation. Following that, he worked at Goldman Sachs for about 15 months.

This year, Aditya Srivastava and Animesh Pradhan have bagged AIR 1 and 2 respectively, followed by Donuru Ananya Reddy at the third spot. A total of 1,016 candidates (664 men and 352 women) have qualified the examination and have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various services. Among the finally qualified candidates, the top five comprises three men and two women candidates.
