NEET UG 2023: Ukraine is one of the most popular study abroad destinations for Indian medical students. Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the Indian government did not reveal the total number of Indian students in the country as all of them were evacuated when the war started. Nearly 15,783 Indian students were evacuated from Ukraine last year.
According to the information given by NBE, 4311 candidates appeared for Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), out of which 1123 cleared it in 2021.

– Candidates must have passed a higher secondary school certificate
– They must have studied and passed Chemistry, Physics, and Biology
– Students with school certificate of 10 or 11 years study need to do one year preparatory course (premedical programme).
According to Odessa National Medical University and a few other varsities, the medical programme in Ukraine is of 6 years, which is 13,474 hours of training in total:
— Humanitarian subjects — 1,576 hours
–Social-economic subjects — 432 hours
–Fundamental /general scientific/ subjects — 2,180 hours
–Professionally oriented subjects — 6,098 hours
–Elective courses — 324 hours
–Practical training — 972 hours
–Subinternship /in the 6-th year — 1,892 hours
Almost all other medical institutes follow the same course structure. Candidates are advised to contact their desired institute and confirm the course structure.
Foreign students can enroll twice a year for the degrees of Junior Bachelor, Bachelor and Master, before and at the beginning of the academic semester. To apply, students will have visit the official website of the university/institute they are interested in, and fill the application form of that varsity. After that, they will be asked to submit all the required documents as proof of their identity and educational qualifications.
After cross checking all the documents and credentials, universities will send invitation letters, admission letters and visa support letters by courier or mail to the selected students.
To get an invitation letter, following documents are required:
– Copy of passport
– Copy of school leaving certificate
– Filled application form
– Copy of MBBS/MD certificate (only for PG students)
– Copy of transcripts of MBBS/MD (only for PG students)
– Invitation, courier charges
Candidates can send the documents by email or by fax, and can transfer the payment by bank transfer or Western Union.
The tuition fee for students opting for English medium is approximately 3500 US$ (Rs 2,89,700) per year, while the tuition fee for Russian medium is 2500 US$ (Rs 2,06,929) per year.
Apart from tuition fee, there are accommodation charges of approximately $1200 for students who are going to join medicine faculty in English medium.

Karazin Kharkiv National University School of Medicine, Medical Academy Named After S.I. Georgievsky of Vernadsky Cfu, Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, Zaporozhye State Medical University, and many more.
Majorly every institute in Ukraine provides medical programme in three languages: Ukrainian, English and Russian.
