Answer key delays and repeated questions: SSC Chairman answers reasons behind this
Earlier slated to take place between September 8 and 18, the Tier 1 exam was postponed without prior notice, leaving aspirants in anticipation. The Commission has confirmed the SSC CHSL new dates, bringing much-needed clarity to thousands of candidates. In a move aimed at enhancing convenience, SSC will allow applicants to choose their preferred exam city, date, and shift.
This SSC CHSL selection window will be open from October 22 to October 28, during which candidates can log in to the official SSC website to make their choices.
The Commission has also released detailed instructions for candidates appearing in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam 2025 regarding the upcoming slot selection process. Upon logging into the official portal, candidates will be presented with available exam slots across various dates and shifts in the three cities they had selected during the application phase.
Candidates will have the flexibility to choose a specific SSC CHSL shift in their preferred city on any available date. However, those opting to take the exam in regional languages may encounter limited availability of slots and dates.
In cases where all slots in the initially chosen cities are filled, the Commission will offer a list of alternative cities with available slots for SSC CHSL exam. While every effort will be made to accommodate candidates in one of these cities, specific dates and shifts cannot be guaranteed, as mentioned in the notification.
Importantly, candidates who fail to select their exam city, date, and shift within the designated window will be considered unwilling to appear for the examination. The Commission has emphasised that no change requests will be entertained once the allotment is finalised based on the candidate’s selection. To assist with the process, a step-by-step guide featuring screenshots will be made available on the portal, ensuring candidates can navigate the selection process with ease, stated the SSC notice.
Meanwhile, SSC has announced an extension for the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 1 answer key challenge window. Candidates now have until October 21, 2025, to raise objections, providing two additional days beyond the previously set deadline of October 19.
