The IMD’s red alert for Mumbai has led the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to declare a holiday for all schools and colleges within its jurisdiction. The BMC has instructed schools and teachers to inform parents about the school shutdown and ensure proper coordination at the school level. Emergency services are on standby to address any adverse situations due to the heavy rainfall forecasted for the region.
Due to incessant rains in the state, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) rescheduled papers to be held on Friday, in an ongoing repeaters examination for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC).
It will now be held on July 31 in the morning session. Whereas for HSC, exams three papers were scheduled to be held on Friday – Commerce and Management, Food Technology and MCVC paper 2, in morning session – from 11am to 1pm. All these papers will now be held on August 9 in the same session.
In Dehradun, authorities have ordered school shut down as the city prepares for heavy rainfall and potential flooding. Additionally, as per reports, in view of Kanwar yatra, Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur administration has also declared a holiday for all government and private schools from July 26 till August 2. ” From 26th July to 2nd August, all the govt and private schools have been given holiday. This is done to ensure that nobody faces any issues while travelling,” said Prerna Sharma, District Magistrate, Hapur.
