The RRB Group D 2025 exam will be conducted from November 27, 2025 to January 16, 2026. The RRB Group D 2025 exam city slips are released on November 19. The Railway Recruitment Boards’ Group D recruitment (CEN No. 08/2024) has moved through a long sequence of administrative steps, legal hurdles, and last-minute changes, finally resulting in a postponement of the exam originally scheduled for November – December 2025.

The RRB Group D application and modification phases were completed in early 2025 without any disruption.

In August, the RRBs issued the first major update – announcing a tentative computer-based test (CBT) schedule. It said that the exams will be conducted between November 17 and the end of December 2025. However, exam preparations soon came to a halt due to a legal challenge related to eligibility criteria, first taken up in the Delhi High Court and later transferred to the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

Throughout this period, the High Court’s stay order prevented RRBs from moving forward with any exam-related activities. This uncertainty continued for months and became the largest bottleneck in the recruitment calendar.

Finally, on November 12, 2025, the CAT dismissed the petition, affirming that both Class 10th-pass and ITI-qualified candidates remain eligible for the Level-1 posts. The ruling lifted all legal barriers and gave RRBs a clear path to conduct the exam.

However, the delay caused by the litigation meant that the originally planned November – December schedule was no longer feasible.
