The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), Mohali on April 30 declared both class 8 and 12 results. Candidates who appeared in the exams can check the result at the official website – pseb.ac.in.
After the result was announced at 4 pm in a press conference in Mohali, a wave of celebration went through the state as students, teachers and parents started celebrating the 93.04 per cent.
This year, Ekampreet Singh of BCM Sr Secondary School Ludhiana has achieved the top spot by scoring 100 per cent. While Ravi Uday Singh also achieved 100 per cent, he was placed at the second position. Ravi is a student of Govt Sr. Secondary School Shri Muktsar Sahib.
In class 8, PSEB recorded an overall pass percentage of 98.31 per cent. Harnoorpreet Kaur of Govt. Sr Secondary School and Bhai Rupa from Bathinda district secured the top spot with 100 per cent scores, followed by Gurleen Kaur of New Flowers Public Sr Secondary School, Amritsar with 99.67 per cent marks, and Armandeep Singh of Gov. Elementary School, Ratoke, Sangrur stood third with 99.5 per cent marks.
As soon as the results and topper names were announced, students visited their schools where they celebrated their success with teachers and parents. The celebrations kicked off with boxes of sweets and beats of dhol.
The detailed marksheets were made available to students in the early hours of May 1.
This time, in class 8, a total of 2,91,917 students appeared in the PSEB Punjab exam out of which 2,86,987 passed the exam. Girls have performed better with a pass percent of 98.83 percent while that of boys is 97.84 per cent.
