CUET UG 2023 Result: The results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023 is likely to be declared by July 15. Once released, candidates who appeared for the entrance exam can check the answer key at the official website — cuet.samarth.ac.in.
“The CUET UG results will release by July 15 this time,” the UGC Chief, M Jagadesh Kumar, told indianexpress.com.
As per earlier announcements by NTA and UGC chief, the results are likely to release within 15 days from the date of completion of the exams. However, no official result date has been announced by the NTA yet.
Why NTA takes time to process results?
While students usually complain that the NTA takes time to generate the final result, the UGC Chief has explained that the result finalisation process is not as simple as it is assumed to be.
“Even though the entrance test is computer-based, the backend processing for the results announcement is time-consuming. After the answer key challenge concluded on June 30, experts will examine the feedback received from the candidates. This process is time-consuming since experts from multiple disciplines will review many question paper answer keys, which takes several days. The experts will then finalize the answer keys and freeze them. Using these keys, NTA will prepare the normalized scores for all the candidates. Since the data is enormous, it will take some time to prepare the scores and verify that it is error-free,” Kumar told indianexpress.com.
“The sheer number of questions is humongous. Once the objections against answer keys are submitted, it takes a lot of time, effort and resources to go through all of them. NTA contacts subject experts for these objections/queries, who go through every query and take a final decision. After that, the answer key is finalised and so are the score cards. This is a very important process that has to be error-free, so all of this takes time,” a senior NTA official further explained to indianexpress.com.
This time, the CUET UG answer key was released by NTA on June 28, after the exams concluded on June 23. Students were given time till June 30 to submit their objections towards the provisional answer keys. The exams were initially supposed to end on May 31 but kept getting extended due to large number of students appearing for the exam.
The CUET UG 2023 exam dates were extended this year mainly for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, and a few other states, as the NTA claims that these regions showed a major increase in the number of registrations this year.
