Appearing for NEET UG? Here are pharmacy entrance exams for those planning a future in medical field

Various state level exams are conducted across the nation for admitting candidates to BPharma courses, GUJCET, KEAM, TE EAMCET, to name a few. GPAT is a national exam for MPharma selection.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts NEET UG for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses in approved and recognised medical, dental, AYUSH and other colleges across India. 

According to the official NTA calendar, the NEET UG 2023 exam is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2023.  

However, NEET is not the only entrance exam to get into a medical college. There are various entrance tests that can help you get a seat in pharmacy courses, such as the GPAT examination for admission to MPharma, and state held WBJEE, Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET), MHT-CET, UPCET (UPSEE), TS EAMCET and more, for undergraduate BPharma.

Below given is the full detail of pharmacy entrance tests:

GPAT

Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a national level entrance test which is conducted for admitting students in the MPharma Programme. The GPAT 2023 registration process concluded on March 13. However, the NTA has not yet announced dates for admit card release, and the exam schedule. Once finalised, the exam dates will be announced at the official website – gpat.nta.nic.in.

WBJEE

WBJEE is conducted  for admission into undergraduate courses in engineering and technology, pharmacy and architecture of different colleges and universities in the state of West Bengal.

The entrance test is scheduled to be conducted on April 30, which will be held in two parts – first shift will be for Mathematics, which will be conducted from 11 am to 1 pm, and the second paper will be of Physics and Chemistry from 2 pm to 4 pm. The registration for the same concluded on January 20.

GUJCET

The GUJCET 2023 examination was held on April 3, 2023 while its registration ended on January 31 (with late fee). The hall tickets for GUJCET 2023 are available at the official website – gujcet.gsebht.in

Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET), is an exam used to select candidates for Gujarat’s undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programmes.

MHT-CET

MHT-CET is conducted for BEngineering, BPharma and Agriculture courses in the state of Maharashtra. MHT-CET 2023 is tentatively scheduled to be conducted between May 9 and May 20. The application form for the same is yet to be released. 

Once released, candidates will be able to register at the official website – cetcell.mahacet.org.

TS EAMCET

According to the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), TS EAMCET 2023 exam for Engineering is scheduled between May 12 to 14. The exams were earlier scheduled to be conducted between May 7 to 9. For Agricultural and Pharmacy, it is between May 10 and 11. The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad is responsible for conducting the test in the state. 

The last date for submission of TS EAMCET 2023 online applications without late fee is April 10 at the official website – eamcet.tsche.ac.in. The hall tickets will be made available from April 30

AP EAMCET/ AP EAPCET

In the state of Andhra Pradesh, candidates can get into pharmacy courses by appearing for the AP EAMCET examination. The dates of AP EAPCET 2023 Examination (Engineering) are between May 15 to 18, and the dates of AP EAPCET 2023 Examination (Agriculture and Pharmacy) is between May 22 to 23. 

The admit cards will be released on May 9. The application correction window will remain open between May 4 and May 6.

The preliminary keys for both streams will be uploaded at 9 am on May 24, and candidates will be given time till May 26 to raise objections.

KEAM

KEAM is a BPharmacy entrance test conducted in Kerala. The entrance exam for engineering and pharmacy will be held on May 17. Paper 1, Physics and Chemistry will be held from 10 am to 12:30 pm and paper 2, Mathematics will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
