NEET UG 2023: Expected cut-off category-wise

NEET UG 2023: The NEET UG Cut-off is of two types -- the qualifying cut-off and the admission cut-off. The NEET admission cut-off shows the minimum marks below which admission will not be granted to a candidate.

NEET UG 2023 Expected Cut-off: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the  National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduate (NEET UG 2023) on May 7. While this year’s NEET UG’s difficulty level is considered moderate by aspirants and educators, and therefore the cut-off is expected to remain near the last year’s.

The NEET UG cut-off is of two types — the qualifying cut-off and the admission cut-off. The NEET admission cut-off shows the minimum marks below which admission will not be granted to a candidate. The qualifying cut-off is the maximum mark a candidate must obtain.

As per Saurabh Kumar, Chief Academic Officer at Vidyamandir Classes, the general category cut-off this year will be around 710-124, while it will be 130-98 for OBC candidates, 120-95 for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 118-92 for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students.

Meanwhile, Sarvesh Chaubey, Deputy Regional Director at Aakash BYJU’S Live is expecting a slightly higher NEET cut-off. “Based on the analysis of last five years, we expect the general category NEET cut off to be around 716-120. For OBC, SC and ST candidates, it may vary around 119-95. Candidates should note that the actual cut-off may vary each year as a result of a number of variables, such as the number of applications, test takers, exam difficulty, changes in the number of seats available in preferred colleges, etc,” Chaubey stated.

Last year, NEET cut-off marks for the general category was 715-117 marks, for SC / ST / OBC category it was 116-93 marks, for the general-PwD category it was 116-105 marks, and for SC / ST / OBC-PwD it was 104-93 marks.
