The results of the Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary examinations were announced by the Kerala Minister for General Education V Sivankutty today at 3 pm at Thiruvananthapuram.
In the Higher Secondary exam, the pass percentage has dropped to 4.26% as compared to the previous percentage. This time, the pass percentage is 78.69 while in 2023, the pass percentage was 82.95.
In the Higher Secondary exam, a total of 3,74,755 students appeared, among them 1,81,466 boys and 1,93,289girls. A total of 2,94,888 have passed the exam.
This year, 39,242 candidates secured A+ in the entire subject in the Plus Two examination. As many as 105 students achieved a 100 per cent score in the state plus 2 exams.
Due to the poor show in the plus two exam by the government schools, Shivankutty has announced an inquiry. This time only 7 government schools achieved 100 percent pass rate. SAY exams will be held in June.
In the Kerala Plus Two exam, Ernakulam district is the best performer (84.12 per cent), while the lowest among all district is Wayanad (72.13 per cent).
Under regular school going category, 1,89,411 students wrote science exam, 76,235 for arts and 1,09,109 for commerce. The success rate for science is 84.84 per cent, for arts it is 67.09 per cent and for commerce it is 76.11 per cent.
In unaided schools, 26,071 students wrote the exam and this year’s pass percentage is 74.51 per cent on the other hand, for aided schools the pass percentage is 82.47 per cent with 1,84,490 students appeared for the examination.
Under special school category, 274 students wrote the exam, and 270 passed the test. The pass percentage for the special schools is 98.54 per cent. This year a total of regular higher secondary students securing A+ in all subjects increased by 5,427. This year, it is 39,242, while in 2023, it was 33,815.
