While sharing their JEE Main exam strategy, most toppers pointed out the relevance of NCERT books in JEE preparation and how it helped them prepare better for exam despite going for coaching.

Harshul Suthar from Ahmedabad secured a 100 percentile in JEE Main session 1. “I study till I can without counting hours. Maharashtra topper Dnyanesh Shinde also believes that self-study through NCERT and guidance can play a key role in cracking this exam. “I shifted Kota to prepare for JEE exam and the guidance received here has helped me clear the exam. However, self-study plays a bigger factor since that’s the only way to put guidance to use. NCERTs are a good way to clear basic concepts,” the topper said.

In the JEE-Main January session, 95.79 per cent attendance was recorded with over 8.24 lakh students appearing for it.

Nipun Goel and Nikunj Goel, two other toppers from session 1 cracked the JEE exam with 100 and 99.99 percentile, respectively.

Sharing their preparation strategy, the twins said, “Mostly we would study our coaching material and it would take up all our time. We would also study NCERT before attending classes. It helped in brushing up important concepts. In the class, teachers would give us notes and later we would solve questions. When the exams were approaching closer, the coaching institute would conduct revision classes.”
