The JEE Main 2023 will be conducted on April 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12 in two shifts- morning shift from 9 am to 12 pm and afternoon shift from 3 pm to 6 pm. For the morning shift, candidates can enter between 7 am to 8:30 am, invigilator will read instruction from 8:30 am to 8:50 am. Candidates will log in to read instructions at 8:50 am and the exam will commence at 9 am. Similarly for the afternoon shift, candidates can get entry from 1 pm to 2:30 pm, the invigilator will read instructions from 2:30 pm to 2:50 pm. Students will log in to read instructions at 2:50 pm and the exam will begin at 3 pm.

In section A (MCQ), if none of the options are found to be correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then full marks are awarded to candidates who appeared for the paper irrespective of whether they attempted the question or not. In section B (questions whose answer should be a numerical value), if a question is found to be incorrect or the question is dropped then full marks will be awarded to all those who attempted the question.

The Union Education Ministry on Monday asserted that it is not considering any proposal for a one-time relaxation in criteria for Joint Entrance Examination Main 2023. "For the school leaving batch of 2020, the JEE (Main) examination was conducted two times in 2020, four times in 2021 and two times in 2022 giving them sufficient opportunities to take the JEE(Main) examination," Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar said. General category candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (GEN- EWS) have 10 per cent of seats in every course.
Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC- NCL) have 27 per cent of seats in every course.
OBC candidates present in the State list but not covered in the central list of OBCs and OBC candidates belonging to creamy layer are NOT eligible to claim the reservation.
Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates have 15 per cent of seats in every course.
Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates have 7.5 percent of seats in every course. 

The NTA will conduct JEE Main 2023 on April 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12. The reserve dates for the exam is April 13 and 15. The exam will be conducted in two shifts from 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm.

The National Testing Agency has activated the link for JEE Main 2023 session 2 admit cards. Candidates appearing for the exam can download the hall tickets from the official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in

The B Planning paper will have three parts- Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Planning. All three parts will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Mathematics will further have two sections A and B. Section A will have 20 Multiple Choice Qeustions and section B will have 10 questions whose answers have to be filled as a numerical value. Only 5 out of the 10 questions needs to be done. Aptitude test will have 50 questions for 200 marks and Planning will have 25 questions for 100 marks. There will be a total of 105 questions for 400 marks. Each correct answer will fetch four marks, for every incorrect answer one mark will be deducted and for unanswered question, candidate will get 0 marks.

The B Arch paper will have three parts- Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test. While part 1 (Mathematics) and part 2 (Aptitude Test) will be conducted in computer based test (CBT), the Drawing Test will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Mathematics will have two sections A and B. Section A will have 20 MCQs and section B will have 10 questions whose answers have to be filled as a numerical value. Candidates have to do only 5 out of the 10 questions. Aptitude test will have 50 questions for 200 marks and drawing test will have 2 questions for 100 marks. There will be a total of 82 questions for 400 marks. For mathematics and aptitude test, each question will be of four marks, for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted and for every unanswered question, student will get 0 marks.

The BE/ BTech paper will have a total of 90 questions for 300 marks. Section A will have 20 multiple choice questions, section B will 10 questions whose answers are to be filled in numerical value, in section B only 5 out 10 questions have to be answered. Each question will be for four marks, for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted. If a question will be left unanswered the candidate will get 0 marks.

The Joint Entrance Exam (Main) will be conducted in 13 languages. The languages are- English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Tie between candidates obtaining equal Total NTA scores in Paper 2A: B. Arch will be resolved in the following manner:
1. NTA score in Mathematics, followed by
2. NTA score in Aptitude Test, followed by
3. NTA score in Drawing Test, followed by
4. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test, followed by
5. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Mathematics (Part-I) in the Test, followed by
6. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Aptitude Test (Part-II) in the Test
followed by
7. Older in Age followed by
8. Application Number in ascending order

As of now, the NTA has not announced any release date for the admit cards of the JEE Main session 2. The official date and time of release of the admit card will soon be announced at the official website.

The BE/ BTech paper will be conducted in Computer Based Test mode. All three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will have two sections. Section A will have 20 questions, section B will have 10 questions. All three subjects will be for 100 marks each. The total paper will be of 300 marks.

The NTA issued a warning against the fake videos being circulated on social media on JEE Main 2023 city intimation slip and admit card release date. 

“It has been brought to our notice that videos are being circulated on the social media platforms which claim to possess “insider” information on date of release of City Intimation Slip and Admit Card of JEE (Main) – 2023 Session 2. NTA rejects these claims as fake and misleading,” the official notice reads.

Candidates registered for the JEE Main April session 2 can download their admit cards from the official JEE Main website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Paper 1 (BTech) will consist of three subjects- physics, chemistry and mathematics. Each subject will be divided in two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates are expected to attempt any five questions out of ten.

A candidate has a choice to appear in one or both sessions. He/ she will be awarded NTA score in each session based on his performance. The candidate’s best NTA scores of all the sessions in which he/ she has appeared will be considered for preparation of merit list/ ranking.

JEE Main 2023 April exam will be held on April 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15, 2023.

Candidates should remember that they will not be allowed to enter the exam centre premises without showing the hall ticket first, so it is necessary to download and take a print out of the admit card.

Yes, there will be negative marking for both Section A and Section B. There will be negative marking for 15 optional questions in Section-B.

No, the syllabus of JEE Main 2023 is the same as that of the last year. However, keeping in view the decision taken by different Boards all over India, NTA has decided that there will be a total of 90 Questions in the Question Paper and the candidates will be required to attempt 75 questions only.

And also, the CUET UG 2022 was completely based on NCERT so, a thorough reading of NCERT was important," she told Agrima Srivastava.

Candidates are required to carry these documents to the JEE Main session 2 exam centres:

- Admit Card along with passport size photograph affixed on it.

- One passport-size photograph (to be affixed on the attendance sheet on the day of the Examination.

- Candidates are advised not to bring any other items to the examination centers. There will be no arrangement for the safekeeping of  any material at the centre. Neither NTA nor centre will be responsible for any loss, delay etc.

The NTA recently released (March 31) the city intimation slip for JEE Main session 2. If you have not downloaded it yet, you can visit the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in — to check and download the advanced city intimation slip. This slip will tell students that which is the city their exam will be conducted in. This will help you make your travel arrangements in time, if you have been assigned a far-away exam centre.

Candidates who are due to appear for JEE Main session 2 will be able to download their admit cards from the official JEE Main website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.

As of now, the NTA has not announced any release date for the admit cards of the JEE Main session 2. The announcement will be made at the official NTA website soon, after which the hall tickets will be released.
