(representative image/file)The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is organising a ‘demo day’ on the campus on June 15 and 16. During the event, JEE 2024 aspirants can visit the campus and experience life in an IIT. Candidates can register at askiitm.com/demo.
For those IIT aspirants, who are unable to travel to IIT Madras will also be able to participate in an online session on June 17. During the online session, Professor V Kamakoti, the director of the institute, other faculty, and alumni will respond to queries related to academic and non-academic life on the IIT Madras campus.
Aspirants in and around Bengaluru and Hyderabad can also choose to attend the satellite demo day events. One such event will be held at SD Auditorium, IISc, in Bengaluru on June 11 and the other at T-Hub in Hyderabad on June 12. Senior faculty, current students, and alumni will be present at the two events in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
An IIT Madras statement issued in this regard said: “This is also an opportunity to interact with current students, faculty, and alumni and receive authentic and up-to-date information directly from the source.”
Students can also seek clarification about recent changes, like the introduction of BTech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, offered by the newest department at IIT Madras — The Wadhwani School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The IIT Madras Demo Day is a part of the Ask IIT M initiative, designed and run by alumni and students of the institute. Apart from these events, in the askiitm.com website, aspirants can ask questions including on courses, faculty, campus life and placements. A team of alumni and student volunteers will answer the questions. Aspirants can also browse through existing answers.
Additionally, the team has put up more than 200 videos on Instagram and YouTube about various topics related to IIT Madras.
